Police warning over drinking issues in town
Police have warned of an increased presence in a Nottinghamshire town centre to curb alcohol-related anti-social behaviour.
Temporary dispersal orders could also be put in place to order people out of Sutton town centre, while alcohol will also be taken from people drinking in public.
Nottinghamshire Police says there has been a drop in crime in Sutton over the last year – and pubic disorder reports have also fallen.
Officers in the community, however, have said there has been an increase in anti-social behaviour linked to street drinkers.
Inspector Chris Boylin, district commander for Ashfield, said: “We are aware of a recent increase in anti-social behaviour and street drinking in Sutton town centre – driven in part by the warmer weather.
