New-look plans for proposed estate in town

More than 60 homes could be built on land near a town centre.

Developers want to create 63 properties on the five acre site off Diamond Avenue, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, close to the Diamond Avenue allotments.

The plans, put together by Homes by Honey, show there would be a mix of terraced, semi-deatched and detached properties, ranging from smaller two- and three-bedroom homes and up to larger four-bed familiy homes.

Of the proposed properties, six would be affordable, planning documents state.

In a statement, the developer said: “The design of the development has been carefully considered in order to make a positive and high-quality contribution to the local character of Diamond Avenue as well as Kirkby-in-Ashfield and the surrounding area.”

A decision is due on the project by April 14.

Dispersal order in town centre

A series of anti-social behaviour incidents led to a dispersal order being put in place in a Nottinghamshire town over the weekend.

Nottinghamshire Police was also recalled to reports of a series of “altercations” in Sutton-in-Ashfield on Thursday and Friday last week, prompting the enforcement action.

The dispersal order began at 8.30am on Saturday, January 25, and ends at 8.30am on Monday, January 27.

The order was put in place for Sutton-in-Ashfield town centre and meant any person aged over 10 found to be “acting in an anti-social manner” could be told to leave the area for 48 hours.

If they returned they could be arrested and prosecuted for breaching the order.
