‘Mixed emotions’ as shop to close after 80 years
A family-run furniture shop will close later this month after 80 years in business.
The owners of Henshaw Furniture Store in Stockwell Gate, Mansfield, said they had “mixed emotions” as they made the decision to shut on Friday, March 28.
A spokesperson said: “This business has been more than just a store, it has been our family’s legacy.
“Passed down from my grandfather, who poured his heart into it, Henshaw’s has been a place of craftsmanship, quality, and service.
“We are so grateful to each and every one of you who have supported us over the years, whether that was with my father Michael, or myself.
“Whether you’ve been a loyal customer for decades or just discovered us recently, your support has meant the world.”
The shop is currently running a sale, with many products on offer for at least half price, and bosses said any outstanding orders would be fulfilled.
The spokesperson added: “Though this chapter is closing, the memories, relationships, and impact of Henshaw Furniture will live on.
“Thank you for being part of our journey.”
The decision was met with an outpouring of support from customers.
One shopper on the shop’s Facebook page said: “So sad to hear this amazing family business is closing.
“The Henshaw family have always been amazing to me and I have a lot of great memories of my time spent on Stockwell Gate.”
Another shopper added: “What an amazing achievement for all those years in business. You should be very proud.”
