Homes set to be created in former snooker hall
A former snooker hall is set to be turned into homes.
Ashfield District Council has given the green light for the project at the old Kirkby Cross Snooker Hall in Chapel Street, Kirkby-in-Ashfield.
Developers applied to change the use of the venue and the land surrounding it to three flats.
The hall, which was also previously a Methodist chapel, closed in 2022 and has been empty ever since.
A report into the full application stated: “The proposal is considered unlikely to have a negative impact on visual amenity and character of the area and conservation area subject to appropriate materials being approved under conditional discharge.”
Cafe plans announced for high street
Breakfast, lunches and afternoon tea could be served from a new café in Sutton under new plans.
