More closure details announced for store
A clothing store which has operated in a Nottinghamshire town for more than 100 years has confirmed its final day of operation.
Clement Taylor in Sutton-in-Ashfield offers clothing for men, women and children, in addition to school clothes.
It was first launched in 1912, the same year the Titanic sank on its maiden voyage, and bosses announced plans to close in January.
At the time, a spokesperson said: “It is with a heavy heart that after 113 years of trading we will be closing up shop.
“We will still be trading for the next few months to clear stock, so come in and grab a bargain.
“We will have huge reductions on most items.
“We would like to thank our loyal customers over these years for their support and custom.”
Since the announcement, the store has been running a closing down sale with major discounts on its products.
In February, the shop announced a raft of new discounts in the “last few weeks before we close”.
On the store’s Facebook page, a customer asked when the shop would be closing. A representative stated it would not be trading after April 5 but that it “could be sooner depending on other circumstances”.
In an official statement from the store’s Facebook page, a spokesperson added: “Our final day will be put on Facebook in advance.”
