Weapons found during raid on home
Police seized drugs and weapons and arrested two men following a raid.
Officers from the Hucknall and Kirkby Neighbourhood Policing Teams carried out a warrant in Windmill Grove, Hucknalll, on Friday, 6 June.
The operation followed a court application based on intelligence about suspected drug dealing linked to the address, according to Nottinghamshire Police.
During the raid, officers discovered and confiscated a haul of illegal substances and weapons.
Two men were taken into custody at the scene on suspicion of drug offences.
A spokesperson for the Hucknall Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This was the second drugs warrant in as many days, and we intend to carry out many more in the coming weeks and months.
“Reports from the community are vital in building up a picture to present to the court to obtain these warrants.”
Representatives from Ashfield District Council were present during the operation, allowing them to witness the activity at one of its properties.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident the day before, on Thursday 5 June, officers from the Hucknall Neighbourhood Policing Team executed another drugs warrant—this time at an industrial unit in Station Terrace.
The warrant was granted by the court following a surge in community intelligence suggesting the site was being used as a cannabis factory.
Upon gaining entry, officers confirmed the reports were accurate, the force said.
PC Liam Taylor from Hucknall NPT said: “We depend on information and reports passed by the community to build up a picture to present to the courts to apply for warrants to enter these premises.
“Cannabis grows are turning up in all sorts of locations.”
