Police recover weapons after disorder report
A lock knife and baton were among items recovered by police following reports of disorder in a Sutton-in-Ashfield Park.
Officers were called to Sutton Lawn at about 12.15pm on Wednesday, October 23, after a man claimed to have been threatened near a fishing pond.
When police arrived, they discovered a tent housing three individuals matching the descriptions provided.
A subsequent search revealed a telescopic baton, a lock knife and cannabis.
Two men aged 18 and 19 and a 16-year-old boy were arrested for possessing an offensive weapon and a knife, as well as for public order offences.
The 19-year-old was also detained on suspicion of possessing Class B drugs.
PC Jessica Poxon said: “There is absolutely no reason for anyone to be carrying a telescopic baton or knife in public. These types of weapons are illegal to possess, even at home.”
